# Traks

Canonical: https://inetgeek.com/analytics/traks/

Open-source (MIT) cookieless web analytics that you deploy into your own Cloudflare account, with a 1.5 KB script and an MCP server for coding agents.

## Where the vendor's own pages disagree

Traks's homepage and changelog say crawlers are counted on a Bots panel of their own; its docs page, which is undated, says known crawlers are dropped. No value is recorded until the vendor settles it.

- “Crawlers and headless browsers are counted too, by name (Googlebot, GPTBot, Headless Chrome, and dozens more), on their own panel and never in your visitor numbers” (https://traks.dev/, read 2026-10-25)
- “The Bots panel has tabs for search engines, AI crawlers, social link previews and other bots” (https://traks.dev/changelog, read 2026-10-25)
- “Headless browsers, Lighthouse, and known crawlers are dropped on purpose” (https://traks.dev/docs, read 2026-10-25)

## Who it suits

A Cloudflare user who wants to own the whole stack. The software is free and MIT-licensed, deploys into your own account, keeps events in your own bucket and runs on Cloudflare’s $5-a-month Workers plan, with an MCP server for coding agents.

Consider something else if You want someone else to run it. There is no hosted service: you deploy and update it yourself in your own Cloudflare account, and the page states no data-retention period.

## iScore

67 / 100 (80% interval 60–75), rank 1 of 9 in analytics — interval overlaps the next rank, so this is an ordering, not a finding.

inetGeek's own reading, computed from sourced facts against category peers by disclosed rules. Not a provider claim. Intervals are 80%; a provider with few documented facts is pulled toward the category middle rather than scored on what little is known.
Read this score with care:
- Capacity and limits is thin: 0 of 2 criteria are scored, so it sits near the category middle with a wide interval (45–58). Read the interval, not the point.
- Trust and compliance is thin: 1 of 4 criteria are scored, so it sits near the category middle with a wide interval (72–84). Read the interval, not the point.
- Documented but not scored, because the page states it as text with no comparable number or a yes/limited/no (a one-time, usage-based or other-vendor price, or a per-site choice): minimum_paid_price, sites_included, gdpr_data_residency. Read them on the provider page; the score neither rewards nor penalises what it could not compare.

## What the documentation says

### Pricing

- Free tier: Yes ([source](https://traks.dev/), read 2026-10-25)
- Kind of free offer: Always free ([source](https://traks.dev/), read 2026-10-25)
- What the free plan includes: The whole product, with no plan tiers or caps from Traks. The only cost is the Cloudflare account it runs in: the page's estimator shows $5/month at 100K events and says 10M Worker requests a month are included before $0.30 per million. ([source](https://traks.dev/), read 2026-10-25)
- Entry paid plan: None to Traks, which is free and open source. Running it costs Cloudflare's usage pricing, paid to Cloudflare: its estimator starts at the $5/month Workers Paid plan, which it says covers millions of events. ([source](https://traks.dev/), read 2026-10-25)
- Pricing model: No subscription. Traks runs in the buyer's own Cloudflare account, so the bill is Cloudflare's usage pricing: a $5/month Workers Paid plan plus metered Worker, Durable Object, Pipelines and R2 usage past the included amounts. The page counts a pageview as about two events. ([source](https://traks.dev/), read 2026-10-25)

### Limits

- Sites or apps included: Not stated as a number. The page describes multi-site support, with sites grouped into workspaces, and shows no site limit. ([source](https://traks.dev/), read 2026-10-25)

### Observability

- Revenue attribution from a payment provider: Limited — Value sent on a custom event; no payment-provider connection ([source](https://traks.dev/docs), read 2026-10-25)
- Self-hostable: Supported ([source](https://traks.dev/), read 2026-10-25)

### Compliance

- Works without cookies: Supported ([source](https://traks.dev/), read 2026-10-25)
- GDPR / data residency: Self-hosted: events are stored in the buyer's own Cloudflare account and bucket rather than on Traks's servers. The page describes the platform as GDPR, ePrivacy and PECR compliant by design. ([source](https://traks.dev/), read 2026-10-25)
