# Scalar

Canonical: https://inetgeek.com/docs-platforms/scalar/

API documentation platform and OpenAPI toolchain: hosted docs, SDK generator, API client and MCP servers built from an OpenAPI document.

## Who it suits

A team that wants OpenAPI-driven docs, an API client, SDK generation and MCP servers from one toolchain with an MIT-licensed core. Pro is $150 a month for 15 APIs and 5 editor seats.

Consider something else if You need SAML SSO, which starts at Business, or a SOC 2 Type II report, where Scalar states a Type 1. Publishing a docs site needs a paid plan after the 7-day trial, so the free plan is not a way to host docs.

## iScore

81 / 100 (80% interval 73–89), rank 5 of 10 in docs-platforms — interval overlaps the next rank, so this is an ordering, not a finding.

inetGeek's own reading, computed from sourced facts against category peers by disclosed rules. Not a provider claim. Intervals are 80%; a provider with few documented facts is pulled toward the category middle rather than scored on what little is known.
