# SigNoz

Canonical: https://inetgeek.com/observability/signoz/

Open-source observability for logs, metrics and traces, billed per GB ingested with retention chosen per signal.

## Who it suits

Teams that want per-GB billing without per-host or per-seat charges, and the option to run the same product themselves rather than being locked to the cloud version.

Consider something else if $0.30 per GB is six times OpenObserve's rate, so a high-volume log pipeline pays a large premium for the packaging.

## Adoption signals

- Open source: SigNoz/signoz — 32,083 stars, 2,479 forks (GitHub, checked 2026-09-12)

## iScore

59 / 100 (80% interval 53–65), rank 8 of 9 in observability — interval overlaps the next rank, so this is an ordering, not a finding.

inetGeek's own reading, computed from sourced facts against category peers by disclosed rules. Not a provider claim. Intervals are 80%; a provider with few documented facts is pulled toward the category middle rather than scored on what little is known.
Read this score with care:
- Capacity and limits is thin: 1 of 3 criteria are scored, so it sits near the category middle with a wide interval (27–60). Read the interval, not the point.
- Documented but not scored, because the page states it as text with no comparable number or a yes/limited/no (a one-time, usage-based or other-vendor price, or a per-site choice): minimum_paid_price, events_included, regions. Read them on the provider page; the score neither rewards nor penalises what it could not compare.

## What the documentation says

### Pricing

- Free tier: No ([source](https://signoz.io/pricing/), read 2026-09-07)
- Kind of free offer: Free trial ([source](https://signoz.io/pricing/), read 2026-09-13)

- Pricing model: Per GB ingested, with no per-user, per-host or custom-metric pricing — SigNoz states all three exclusions explicitly. Retention is a per-signal choice that changes the rate. ([source](https://signoz.io/pricing/), read 2026-09-06)

### Infrastructure

- Regions: US, EU and India data centres for SigNoz Cloud; Enterprise Cloud lets you pick the region. ([source](https://signoz.io/pricing/), read 2026-09-13)

### Observability

- Events included: No events meter: SigNoz Cloud bills traces and logs per GB and metrics per million samples. The $49/month Teams minimum includes $49 of usage — e.g. 163 GB of logs or traces, or 490 mn metric samples. ([source](https://signoz.io/pricing/), read 2026-09-13)
- Retention window: 15 days by default for logs and traces, selectable up to 30, 90, 180 days or 1 year at higher rates. ([source](https://signoz.io/pricing/), read 2026-09-06)

- Self-hostable: Supported ([source](https://signoz.io/pricing/), read 2026-09-06)
- Ingest price per GB: $0.30 per GB ingested for logs, and the same for traces. Retention is chosen per signal and priced with it. ([source](https://signoz.io/pricing/), read 2026-09-06)
- Query price: No charge for querying on SigNoz Cloud: query compute is included in the $0.30/GB ingestion price, with no dashboard or API charges. ([source](https://signoz.io/clickstack-alternative/), read 2026-09-13)

### Support

- Support on entry paid plan: In-product chat, email and Slack on the usage-based cloud plan. Enterprise, from $4,000/month, adds data residency and compliance. ([source](https://signoz.io/pricing/), read 2026-09-14)
