# n8n on Hostinger VPS

Canonical: https://inetgeek.com/stacks/n8n-on-hostinger-vps/

Hostinger VPS publishes its own guide for deploying n8n.

Open-source workflow automation tool deployed from an official Docker image, storing workflows, credentials and execution history that must survive redeploys.

## What n8n needs

Every host claims to run n8n, so the claim on its own decides nothing. These are the things n8n requires from the platform underneath it, and what Hostinger VPS publishes about each. Hostinger VPS documents 3 of the 6.

| Requirement | Hostinger VPS | Why it matters |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Persistent storage | Supported | Unless it is pointed at an external database, n8n keeps workflows, credentials and execution history on local disk. Without a volume, everything you built disappears on the next deploy. |
| Persistent processes | Supported | Webhook triggers have to be reachable between runs, and a workflow can execute for minutes. Both need a process that stays up rather than one that starts per invocation. |
| Docker deployment | Supported | Every provider guide for n8n starts from the official Docker image. A platform that cannot run a container cannot run n8n. |
| Max request duration | Not documented | A workflow calling several slow APIs in sequence is a single HTTP request as far as the platform is concerned, so the request ceiling is what cuts it off mid-run. |
| Managed databases | Not documented | n8n runs on SQLite by default and documents Postgres for production. A guide that leaves it on SQLite is not showing a production install, and the host needs to offer the database that replaces it. |
| Scheduled jobs | Not documented | Most n8n workflows begin with a schedule trigger rather than a webhook. Those fire from inside the running instance, so a host that idles the process stops the automations it was installed for. |

## What Hostinger VPS documents

> Install n8n on a Hostinger VPS using a template. Set up n8n in a few clicks using Hostinger's template. Since this method doesn't require executing commands, it's the safest, easiest, and most efficient.

### n8n features on Hostinger VPS

- **queue_mode**: Supported — n8n comes preinstalled with Hostinger's "Ubuntu 24.04 with n8n" VPS template. Within a Docker environment, you can quickly and easily deploy your automation workflows. We also offer a template to set up n8n in queue mode for better scalability. ([source](https://www.hostinger.com/self-hosted-n8n))
- **scheduled_data_backups**: Supported — If you use Hostinger VPS solutions, an automatic weekly backup is active by default. We also offer a manual snapshot, which captures the current state of your VPS for easy recovery if you want to perform major server customizations. ## What it costs to run there

| | Hostinger VPS |
| --- | --- |
| Entry paid plan | $11.99/month on renewal for KVM 1, on a two-year term. The advertised $6.49 is an introductory rate for the first term only. |
| Pricing model | Prepaid multi-year terms at a discounted first term, renewing at roughly 1.85x. KVM 1 is $6.49/month on a two-year prepay and $11.99/month on renewal. Milder than the shared-hosting line, where the same structure renews at 3.7x. |
| Regions | Data centers in North America, Europe, Asia and South America. Hostinger names the continents on the VPS page rather than listing the locations. |

## Whether it suits you

Running Docker applications on a cheap KVM server with root access, where 4 GB of RAM at the entry plan matters more than a managed control plane. The one-click catalog covers the usual self-hosted stack.

Consider something else if: The advertised price is introductory. Compare the two-year renewal rate, and note that Hostinger publishes continents rather than data centre locations, so you cannot pick a specific region before buying.
