What this is
inetGeek compares hosting platforms and provides free DNS and email diagnostic tools. The comparisons are assembled from what each provider publishes about itself, with the source recorded against every figure so you can check it rather than trust it.
The tools are not lead magnets with a comparison table bolted underneath. They query live DNS through public resolvers, return an answer, and store nothing.
Who runs it
inetGeek is maintained by Palash Bagchi and operated by Immortal Reality PA LLC, a software company registered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Recommendations on this site carry the name of whoever wrote and approved them. Where you read "Choose X if…", that is a person's judgment, not a generated sentence.
Why it exists
Most hosting comparisons are ranked by commission rather than by fit, and the numbers in them are rarely traceable to anything. The specific figures that decide a hosting choice — the inode limit on a shared plan, whether exceeding a cap throttles you or bills you, whether a platform limits CPU time or wall-clock time — are usually published somewhere obscure by the provider, and almost never collected side by side.
That collection is the work. Everything else here follows from it.
Where it is honestly incomplete
This site currently documents what providers publish. That is verifiable, and it is not the same as independent measurement — nothing here is a benchmark we ran, and where a provider publishes nothing, we show nothing.
Coverage is uneven for the same reason. Providers with thorough documentation have twenty or more sourced values; consumer hosts with marketing-led sites have far fewer. We would rather show that unevenness than even it out with guesses.
It is also early. There are sixteen providers here, not two hundred, because each one is read and recorded by hand.
How it is funded
There are currently no affiliate relationships, no sponsored placements and no paid rankings on this site. Nothing here earns a commission today.
If that changes, affiliate links will be marked as such in the markup and disclosed on the page carrying them, and they will not affect which provider appears first or what a comparison concludes. Ordering is driven by sourced data and stated criteria, and the criteria are on the methodology page.
