ETL and data pipelines

Each provider is profiled from its own pricing page, with the source recorded against every figure. One meters the rows that changed, one meters every change to them, one meters gigabytes plus a fee per connector, and one charges a flat monthly fee per pipeline and stops counting — so the same nightly load is nearly free on one and the most expensive line on the bill on another.

ProviderEntry paid planSync frequencyWhat is metered
Estuary Flow$100 a month for the first connector instance on the Cloud plan, before any of the $0.50 per GB moved.Millisecond latency or batch on the Cloud plan at no extra charge, and delivery latency is configurable per destination.$0.50 per GB moved, plus a flat monthly fee for every active connector instance — $100 each for the first six and $50 each after that. A connector instance is one connection to a source or to a destination, so a single pipeline costs two of them.
Fivetran$5 base charge per standard connection using between 1 and 1 million MAR in a month, charged on top of per-MAR usage. There is no plan fee to clear first, so a single light connection is the floor.15-minute syncs on Standard. One-minute syncs arrive on Enterprise, two plans up.Consumption on monthly active rows. Inserts and updates count, deletes included; rows that come back unchanged on a scheduled re-sync do not, and neither does the initial bulk load when a connector is set up. Metered per million MAR.
Hevo Data$299 a month for Starter at 5 million events, or $265 a month billed annually.1-hour scheduling on the Free plan. Streaming pipelines arrive on Business Critical, which is quote-only.Tiered subscription by monthly event volume, where an event is each record inserted, updated or deleted in the destination. A row that changes repeatedly is billed each time it changes.
Portable$1,800 a month for Standard, which enables 6 data flows and includes unlimited data volume.Every 1 hour on Standard. Every 15 minutes, or at a chosen time by cron, from Pro.A fixed monthly fee set by the number of enabled data flows, with unlimited data volume on every plan. Each unique source-destination pair counts as one flow.

Which to consider

Estuary Flow

Pipelines that have to be fresh. Millisecond latency or batch is included on the entry paid plan at no extra charge, where the other three gate sub-15-minute syncs behind a higher tier or a sales call. The free tier runs indefinitely at 10 GB a month with no card.

Fivetran

Sources whose rows keep changing. A monthly active row is counted once however many times it changed that month, unchanged rows on a re-sync cost nothing, and the initial bulk load is excluded entirely — so a churny table is billed on how many rows moved, not how often. 500,000 MAR free, standing.

Hevo Data

A capped bill at low volume with real support attached to it. $299 a month covers 5 million events, and 24x7 email and live chat come with the cheapest paid plan rather than an upgrade. SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and per-region residency — EU, US or APAC, never crossed — are stated platform-wide.

Portable

A bill that does not move and a long tail of obscure sources. 1,500+ connectors is the largest catalogue here, data volume is unlimited on every plan, and the only thing that changes the price is enabling another flow — so a nightly full reload of a huge table costs exactly what a small one does.

When these numbers change, hear about it. Sources are re-checked monthly; a repricing goes out as a short note.
