Object storage pricing, compared
Each provider is profiled from its own documentation, with the source recorded against every figure.
Storage price per GB-month, cheapest first
7 providers publish a per-GB monthly rate for their standard storage class and are ranked by it; Backblaze B2 and Wasabi price per TB and are listed after them in their own wording. Each rate is the one the provider's record carries, usually the first tier in a US region, as the quoted text on its page says. Egress and the free allowance sit beside it, because a cheap GB that is expensive to read back is not cheap. Download as CSV.

Object storage
| Provider | Egress over allowance | Storage | Operations |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amazon S3 | $0.09 per GB for the first 10 TB a month out to the internet, after a free 100 GB aggregated globally. It falls to $0.085 above 10 TB, $0.07 above 50 TB and $0.05 above 150 TB. This is AWS's outbound data transfer rate rather than an S3-specific one — the charge that R2, Wasabi and Tigris do not levy at all. | $0.023 per GB-month for S3 Standard, first 50 TB, in us-east-1. S3 prices vary by region; this and every other S3 figure on the site is that region. | $0.005 per 1,000 PUT, COPY, POST and LIST requests, and $0.004 per 10,000 GET and all other requests, in us-east-1. DELETE and CANCEL are free. |
| Azure Blob Storage | First 100 GB a month free, then $0.087 per GB over Microsoft's global egress meter, falling to $0.083 above 10 TB. | $0.0208 per GB-month for Hot LRS in East US, falling to $0.019968 above 50 TB and $0.019136 above 500 TB. | $0.05 per 10,000 write operations and $0.004 per 10,000 reads on Hot LRS in East US. |
| Backblaze B2 | Free up to three times your stored capacity each month on the $6.95/TB tier; unlimited free egress on the $15/TB tier. Egress beyond the 3x allowance is chargeable. | $6.95 per TB per month on B2 Overdrive; $15 per TB per month on the unlimited-egress tier | Transactions are not charged on the $6.95/TB tier. Backblaze notes that its published chart uses U.S. West rates and that competitor rates vary by region and volume. |
| Bunny Storage | Free to Bunny's own CDN, and no API fees or API egress charges. Bunny prices storage by replication rather than by transfer. | $0.01 per GB per month on Standard HDD for up to two regions, then $0.005 per additional region up to nine. Edge SSD is $0.02 per GB per region across up to fifteen. Three regions on Standard is $0.025 per GB. | None. Bunny states no API fees. |
| Cloudflare R2 | Free. Cloudflare charges nothing for egress to the internet on any storage class; Infrequent Access adds a $0.01/GB retrieval fee instead. | $0.015 per GB-month for Standard, $0.01 for Infrequent Access. Billed rounded up to the whole GB-month. | $4.50 per million Class A operations (writes and listings) and $0.36 per million Class B (reads) on Standard; $9.00 and $0.90 on Infrequent Access. Rounded up to the whole million. |
| IDrive e2 | Free up to three times your active storage volume each month — the same shape as Backblaze B2's allowance rather than the unconditional free egress R2 and Wasabi advertise. | $0.006 per GB per month, or $6 per TB, tierless — the cheapest published rate here. SSD storage is $0.01 per GB per month. | None. IDrive e2 states no additional charges for API transactions across class A, B and C. |
| Storj | $7 per TB, the same rate as storage — reduced from $20 per TB on the Standard tier. Storj charges for egress where R2, Wasabi and Tigris do not, but at a tenth of what S3 charges. | $7 per TB per month, which is $0.007 per GB. A $5 monthly minimum applies to Standard and Advanced accounts. | Segment fees have been eliminated across all new tiers. They still apply to accounts on legacy plans. |
| Tigris | None, on every storage class. Tigris states it does not charge "for regional data transfer, region-to-region data transfer, or data transfer out to the internet (egress)". The $0.01–$0.03 per GB that appears beside it on the pricing table is Data Retrieval — a separate line from Data Storage and request charges, billed for reading out of the Infrequent Access and Archive Instant Retrieval classes, and not a transfer charge. | $0.02 per GB-month for Standard, $0.01 for Infrequent Access, $0.004 for Archive and Glacier tiers | $0.005 per 1,000 Class A requests and $0.0005 per 1,000 Class B, on every tier. DELETE and CANCEL are free. Object notifications cost $0.01 per 1,000 events. |
| Wasabi | None. Wasabi charges for capacity only, with no egress or API request fees. | $7.99 per TB per month, flat, with no separate charge for egress or API requests | None. API requests are not charged separately. |
Which to consider
Workloads already inside AWS, where keeping data in the same region as the compute avoids the transfer charges that dominate an object storage bill.
Workloads already on Azure, where keeping storage in the same region as the compute avoids the bandwidth charge that dominates an object storage bill.
Bulk capacity where egress is predictable — free up to three times what you store each month, which covers most backup and archive patterns comfortably at $6.95 per terabyte.
Assets served from a CDN, where paying per replicated region buys latency you would otherwise build yourself — and traffic to Bunny's CDN costs nothing.
Serving files to the public, where egress is the bill everyone underestimates. Nothing to pay for bandwidth out, on any storage class, so a busy bucket costs what it costs to store rather than what it costs to read.
Bulk storage where the per-GB rate dominates — $6 per TB is roughly a quarter of S3's and well under Wasabi's, with no API fees and no minimum retention period.
Workloads that want data spread across many independent locations rather than one provider's region, at a storage rate close to the cheapest here.
Globally distributed buckets with no egress fees and tiered storage, where cold data drops to $0.004 per GB-month without a separate archive product to manage.
Anyone who wants one number. Capacity is the only charge — no egress fees, no API request fees — which makes the bill predictable in a way nothing else in this category manages.
