Hevo Data vs Portable

SEPT 2026 audit

A comparison of Hevo Data and Portable built from values read directly from each provider's own documentation, with the source recorded against every figure.

The short answer

Choose Hevo Data if…

A capped bill at low volume with real support attached to it. $299 a month covers 5 million events, and 24x7 email and live chat come with the cheapest paid plan rather than an upgrade. SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and per-region residency — EU, US or APAC, never crossed — are stated platform-wide.

Choose Portable if…

A bill that does not move and a long tail of obscure sources. 1,500+ connectors is the largest catalogue here, data volume is unlimited on every plan, and the only thing that changes the price is enabling another flow — so a nightly full reload of a huge table costs exactly what a small one does.

Consider something else if…

  • Hevo Data: Rows are rewritten often. An event is every insert, update and delete landing in the destination, so a row touched thirty times in a month is thirty events where a monthly-active-row meter reads one. Governance arrives late too: RBAC and SSO are Business Critical, which is quote-only.
  • Portable: You have a handful of pipelines, or want to start without committing. $1,800 a month for six flows is the floor and there is no free tier, only a 14-day trial — one pipeline here costs what a light Fivetran connection costs 360 times over. Standard also syncs hourly; 15 minutes means Pro at $2,800.

10 sourced criteria separate them — see where, with sources, below.

Should I choose Hevo Data or Portable?

Pick Hevo Data if A capped bill at low volume with real support attached to it. $299 a month covers 5 million events, and 24x7 email and live chat come with the cheapest paid plan rather than an upgrade. SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and per-region residency — EU, US or APAC, never crossed — are stated platform-wide.

Pick Portable if A bill that does not move and a long tail of obscure sources. 1,500+ connectors is the largest catalogue here, data volume is unlimited on every plan, and the only thing that changes the price is enabling another flow — so a nightly full reload of a huge table costs exactly what a small one does.
